Florida swaps hurricane tax holiday for permanent disaster-supply exemption ahead of 2026 season

As the 2026 Atlantic hurricane season approaches, Florida has eliminated its annual temporary tax holiday on disaster supplies and replaced it with a permanent sales tax exemption. Residents are being urged to assess their individual risk, which can vary widely and include storm surge, inland flooding, high winds, and tornadoes.
