Alachua County School Board votes to keep Irby as Pre-K–2, shift Mebane to grades 3–8

The Alachua County Public Schools Board voted to restructure grade configurations in the city of Alachua, keeping W. W. Irby Elementary open as a pre-kindergarten through second-grade campus. Under the new arrangement, Mebane Middle School will absorb third through eighth grade, meaning all Alachua students will transition between the two campuses based on grade level.
