Gainesville toddler dies after mother allegedly beat and stomped her

Alachua County deputies responded Thursday to an unresponsive 2-year-old girl and learned her mother, Jessica Wilson, 29, had beaten and stomped the child until she began seizing. Medical staff documented skull fractures and bruises to the head, chest, and back when the toddler arrived at the hospital. The girl died Sunday afternoon after three days of treatment.
