North Central Florida Venezuelan community organizes earthquake relief drive

Two major earthquakes struck Venezuela on June 24, causing widespread damage in the La Guaira and Caracas regions. A local relief effort in North Central Florida, drawing on the area’s Venezuelan diaspora community, is now collecting donations to send aid to affected areas. A Gainesville resident originally from Venezuela described the aftermath as painful to witness from afar.
