$36M Army Reserve equipment site nearing completion at former Gainesville fairgrounds

A $36 million Army Reserve Equipment Concentration Site at the former Alachua County Fairgrounds on 39th Avenue and Waldo Road is nearing completion after breaking ground in 2022. The project, which has been in the works since 2020, faced delays tied to government shutdowns during construction. The facility is expected to open in late fall and bring at least 60 permanent skilled jobs to the Gainesville area.
