Grass Roots Underground Kitchen brings free meals and farm-fresh food to East Gainesville

A Gainesville organization called Grass Roots operates an underground kitchen in East Gainesville, providing free dinners to families facing hardship using produce, beef, and eggs raised on its own Alachua County farm. The group is hosting a free public event on July 18 at 2626 E. University Ave., open to all ages, with opportunities to volunteer. In addition to food relief, the organization offers disaster relief support and youth mentorship programming.
