GPD raises reward to $9,500 in 2021 shooting death outside Gainesville store

The Gainesville Police Department has increased the reward in a five-year-old unsolved murder case to $9,500. Tarik Simmons was fatally shot outside a convenience store on Eighth Avenue on July 18, 2021, when an SUV pulled up and opened fire on a group of people before fleeing. Anyone with information must submit a tip through Crime Stoppers for it to qualify toward the reward.
