Putnam County mother jailed after infant found severely underweight, medically neglected

Putnam County detectives arrested Jodi Danielle Cannon, 26, on Tuesday after a Department of Children and Families caseworker found her six-week-old child severely underweight and suffering from diaper rash. Cannon had refused to bring the infant to a doctor before authorities intervened, and the baby was subsequently hospitalized in the pediatric intensive care unit with a low heart rate, low temperature, and weight below the fifth percentile. Cannon was booked into the Putnam County Jail on two felony child neglect charges.
