Alachua County deputies probe armed robbery staged through Facebook Marketplace

Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a Wednesday robbery on SW 69th Street in Gainesville in which two victims traveled to meet potential buyers for items listed online. Two masked suspects in dark clothing, one carrying a handgun, approached and seized the merchandise before fleeing — and the person who arranged the meeting was later determined to have been in on the plot. Detectives say the attack appears to have been deliberately orchestrated and are working to identify all three suspects.
