Gainesville man charged with aggravated assault after drawing gun at restaurant

A 24-year-old Gainesville man was arrested Friday after police say he pulled a firearm from his waistband and aimed it at another patron inside a local restaurant. According to police, Toddrick Sutton drew the weapon following a brief exchange of looks with the victim, reportedly stating he was unafraid to shoot. Sutton told officers he believed the victim was reaching into his pocket and argued the other man should also face arrest; Sutton is now charged with aggravated assault.

Alachua County man arrested after Facebook Marketplace gun sale turns into robbery

Alachua County deputies arrested 18-year-old Dewayne McAllister after he allegedly arranged to buy a firearm through Facebook Marketplace, then returned to the meeting in the Holly Heights neighborhood with a weapon and two associates and stole the seller’s gun. Investigators identified McAllister through his Facebook account name, leading to his arrest. He was also linked to several prior burglaries.
