Newberry Community School opens Monday after years of opposition from local leaders
U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack participated in a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Newberry Community School, a new public charter school in Newberry set to begin classes Monday. The school’s conversion to a charter model has drawn sustained resistance from community groups and members of the Alachua County School Board over several years.
