UF secures Washington, D.C. property near Capitol through $4.25M donor gift
The University of Florida is establishing a permanent presence in Washington, D.C., through a $4.25 million property donation from alumni Brian and Kathryn Ballard. The facility, to be called the Ballard House, will host student academic and professional programs, faculty briefings with federal policymakers, speaker series, and alumni gatherings. Brian Ballard, a UF graduate and founder of the lobbying firm Ballard Partners, said the gift is intended to give Gator students and faculty direct access to the institutions shaping national policy.
