Poe Springs to stay closed through January as drought conditions linger
Alachua County environmental staff have recommended keeping Poe Springs closed until January, more than six months after shutting it down in July over dangerously low water levels. County staff outlined recovery efforts in a memo to commissioners, including plans to install a vegetation tank to support the spring’s ecosystem.
