UF freshman arrested on sexual battery charge, barred from campus

Alachua County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an 18-year-old University of Florida freshman and booked him into the Alachua County Jail on a sexual battery charge stemming from an incident in late September. Investigators say the suspect went to a woman’s off-campus apartment despite her repeated requests that he not come, and the victim reported that he assaulted her while she said no. The suspect has been prohibited from UF properties following his arrest.
