Michael Dixon, 34, was struck and killed by a vehicle on Archer Road early Saturday morning while walking to a nearby gas station after his friends’ car ran out of fuel. The Florida Highway Patrol has opened a criminal investigation to identify the driver or drivers who fled the scene without stopping. Dixon’s family, including his mother and twin sister, gathered at the scene as authorities spent the morning documenting the crash site.
