UF denounces DEI on social media as Scott, federal officials pressure presidential search

The search named Dr. Stuart Bell as the sole finalist, drawing criticism from Scott over a lack of transparency and questions about contracted payments. The controversy follows state leaders rejecting UF’s previous presidential finalist nearly a year ago, partly over concerns he had not taken a sufficiently firm stance against DEI.
