Cammack introduces bill to expand mental health resources for first responders

U.S. Rep. Kat Cammack visited Marion County Fire Rescue’s Station 28 in Ocala on Tuesday to promote her Answering the Call Act of 2026, legislation designed to broaden mental health support for firefighters, paramedics, and law enforcement officers. The bill would build on the existing 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by raising awareness and expanding resources tailored to the particular pressures faced by first responders.
